Walter B. Jones, Jr.

Walter Beaman Jones, Jr. (born February 10, 1943) is the U.S. Representative for , serving since 1995. He is a member of the Republican Party. The district encompasses the Outer Banks and stretches from areas near the Pamlico Sound down to Wilmington. Jones' father was Walter B. Jones, Sr., a Democratic Party congressman from the neighboring 1st district.
==Early life, education, and business career==
Walter B. Jones, Jr., is the son of former U.S. representative Walter, Sr. (1913–1992), and Dot Long Jones (1914–1984).
Jones is a lifelong resident of Farmville, a small town near Greenville, North Carolina. He attended Hargrave Military Academy in Chatham, Virginia and graduated in 1966 with a Bachelor of Arts from Atlantic Christian College (now Barton College) in Wilson, North Carolina, before serving four years (1967–71) in the North Carolina National Guard. He worked as an executive with his family's business supply company.
